That image is a bit outdated. I hit similar error messages from downloading
the seeed voicecard master file and installing. I got farther with the
previous os I was working on using the maker's space website.
Let me know when you update your image.

I also have this card, I see that the 3.5mm jack input has 4 pins, can I also use headphones / earphones? Or use the microphone built into the earphones? and how eventually? THANK YOU |
Once the drivers are installed, set the audio in and out to seeedcard. Once
set as the dedicated sound card the 3.5mm jack can be used with headphones
or speaker. Also the sell 8ohm speakers that can be plugged into the socket
near the i2c and gpi2 ports.

Clean install of Stretch os on 64gb fat32 sd card.
All mic_hat tests run.
Alexa is idle.
Arecord -l shows seeed-voicecard.
Aplay -l also shows seeed-voicecard.
Sample avs running in terminal, doesn't respond to voice, no sound produced.
Help me solve this puzzle.
