Something I would like the release tool to be able to do is automatically upgrade the submodules whenever we want to do a new release. However, most Git installs on windows don't put Git in the Path. Should we just assume that the git exe is installled at the default place, and Git-SCM is being used? if so, this is fairly simple. Otherwise the only way to do this would be to extract a portable copy of git and put it in the repository. The portable copy is 30 MB, which is probably too big.
