The results don't include the iTunes site for that radio show.
Neither do the results include the radio show's own archive of episodes.. https://www.thisamericanlife.org/archive (This might be hard to solve for more than one show.. hah!)
Finally, the search results don't include the following RSS link. This is the good one, this is the link I want.. because I can paste this into my libre software standalone podcast player app: https://www.thisamericanlife.org/podcast/rss.xml
There may be some way for the idonthavespotify app to find that last link programmatically.
The following strings that look like domains are contained in the RSS contents. Are these service providers that the radio show enlists to help publish their content?? I have no idea.
Hello!
I like your app. "I don't have spotify" is something I have said aloud many times. :)
This issue is meant to suggest a feature the application doesn't yet have and to provide some suggestions about how the feature might be added.
The proposed feature is "podcast support".
Today, 2024-11-12, I tried using the live idonthavespotify web application to search up this link to an episode of a radio show... https://open.spotify.com/episode/4biuWPm46rpUo6XymrOKTS
No results were returned.
I tried this other link, which is a link to the show instead of the episode. https://open.spotify.com/show/41zWZdWCpVQrKj7ykQnXRc
That did return results.

And, if you just type the name of the radio show into the average standalone podcast player app.. you get results. There must be some podcast lookup service out there. Ah, yes, here is an example.. This podcast player app uses multiple such lookup services: https://github.com/AntennaPod/AntennaPod/tree/bf740c0748d97e62aa37a83778a0481977757c09/net/discovery/src/main/java/de/danoeh/antennapod/net/discovery
I hope someone finds this information and these suggestions useful. Cheers!
