On one of my computers I found an sd-desktop.exe still in memory, which was locking some of the files. On the other computer there was no such process and I was able to delete the orphaned files without issue. It's parent process is missing, and the program file is deleted.
Maybe it was a background process? It sure has been busy!
and it has a LOT of threads
I had to use elevated privileges to kill the process. Maybe it was launched by the installer while it has elevated privileges? That is a security no-no...
