Hi,
Long time ago I started developing a tool called "Zmbackup" as a solution for free backups. The tool was a continuation from Zmbkpose, another tool maintained by a brazilian company called 4Linux. Fast foward - a lot of peoples are using this script and to be honest I wasn't expecting this, even after staying for 2 years outside the project.
Because of that I want to build a new tool that will substitute Zmbackup as a proper and stable solution for mail backup. But I can't keep the cost of everything to myself, for that reason I'm opening this GitHub Sponsors to help pay for the cost of my expenses. Here is what I need to develop Waddles - the new mail backup solution:
- Pycharm Pro - I can work with the Community Edition, but the PRO version has a lot of tools and features that can help speeding my work. One of those features is the syntax validation for other types of file that is not .py, which I will need to work with Jinja2.
- Zimbra Mail Webserver - I can work with a virtual machine locally, but the only thing I can validate this way is if I can execute a backup or not - which proves to be not as effective as should be based on the bug log from Zmbackup. I can remove from the costs if someone is willy to sacrifice themselves to use Waddles as a beta tester and let me or anyone else from the community to access their servers for debug purpose (if necessary).
- My time - The most important of all of them. I know you all want a free solution, but I gain nothing for doing that except headaches. So please at least pay me a coffee to keep me motivated working on Waddles. Waddles will still be free, but the amount of attention I gave to the project will depend on the donations I receive.
Thanks for reading until now! Much appreciate that you had time to read this far and/or is using any of the tools I did. It fills me with pride by knowing that peoples like what I did :)
