Want to disable the message box that prompts me to save a deleted file when I close it #6503

Problem description

Sometimes I'll have a file open in Sublime Text (with no unsaved edits), and then I'll move or delete the file on disk. When I try to close the tab for that file, Sublime Text brings up a dialog that says "Foo.txt has been deleted, save anyway? [Yes] [No] [Cancel]"

Preferred solution

I would like a Preferences setting that disables the message box that comes up when I try to close a file that no longer exists on disk. I just want to be able to close the tab instantly.

Alternatives

An alternative would be: as soon as the file is deleted, if there have been no unsaved edits made in the editor, the tab just closes itself automatically.

Tabs representing deleted / no longer existing files can explicitly be closed by

  1. right click on a tab to open tab context menu
  2. click on Close Deleted Files menu item

This workflow avoids loosing unsaved content by closing a tab by accident.

Plugins can mark a file scratch to suppress save as dialog, but that works only in combination with closing tabs via key bindings.
