looks like the index page is created by the serve-index package. browsing over to that project, I find a PR that implements some similar sorting functionality 🎉 expressjs/serve-index#41

will close this one.

got it working using a modified serve-index and a custom sort function 🎉

will reopen this one and send a PR 😄
