Hi,

I am trying to open the file SO_v4_top_plate_2mm.dxf and every application I try to open it in shows it is corruped.
I tried opening it in Solidworks, Illustrator, and many online DXF viewers.

Here's an example of an error I get
https://imgur.com/DgLz1db

Could someone please confirm if they have had any luck opening this file?

Hi,
Is it just the file SO_v4_top_plate_2mm.dxf?

I'll check it and will reupload it, if there is an issue!

I had a similar issue today. I can not load any of the .dxf files. Will not open in Vectorworks or any of the viewers I have. Diagnostic in Vectorworks says it is corrupted and throws an error when loading.

Thanks @asr385. Can I get confirmation from anyone at all that they are able to open these files?

I downlaoded the SO_v4_top_plate_2mm.dxf again and could open it right away with QCad.

Also tested the file in Fusion360 and it works also.

maybe it has something to do with the dxf version. Right now its saved as: Format: R27 (2013) DXF Drawing (Teigha) (*.dxf)

Do you know which Format Vectorworks need?

Also Inkscape can read the file:

I managed to get it to work by copying the code directly into an R markdown and exporting a .dxf not sure what the issue is in downloading it directly. Vectorworks is a direct competitor of Autodesk and has full compatibility with almost all 2D and 3D file formats. I did get them to all open though, just not how I usually would have.

@asr385 thanks. This is a good workaround. Copyfile the raw into a notepad and saving as .dxf works.
