Getting Started guide: Explanations for command line options

Hi all,

my employer gave me one day of walking through this project and have a look at the documentation :)

I am currently walking through the "Getting Started" guide, and I see that we sometimes use command line options without explaining them.

Given that this guide is meant to be followed by developers with little experience in command line tools (or even Linux), I think that we should explain what we are doing here. Of course this boils down to the question: "What experience level are we expecting from the reader?".
