First, switch to DAI and enable credit cards!
Then, we should make this lock community owned. For this we should use the referral mechanism of Unlock to grant "shares" of the community lock to any creator whose content was unlocked.
Finally we should make this lock a bonding curve with its price going up with every new member.

The default locked.fyi lock is at 0xaad5Bff48e1534EF1f2f0A4184F5C2E61aC47EC3

  • Switch to DAI
  • Enable credit cards
  • Add config for credit cards on paywall
  • Add hook to generate bonding curve pricing
  • Deploy locked.fyi DAO whose shares are going to be for authors of stories
  • Add DAO as lock manager
  • let DAO members withdraw their share of the proceeds

Some initial thoughts for this DAO design, for comment:

I added some more thoughts. Some open topics include:

  • Should there be a mechanism for "rage quitting" to get author value out? Or what else did you have in mind?
  • Voting rights within the DAO. I think this is pretty essential (see hypothetical example: The cooperative starts creating content, and they start generating revenue. What if they want to start doing marketing work? Or maybe pay someone to build a website? Or some other activities? Having proposals + ability to fund things would allow for these sorts of things, and allow the DAO to actually behave as a cooperative)
  • Specs for a scheme to issue shares programatically

Actually, I was thinking about this last night. We could remove the voting scheme from the DAO, and only have:
-DAO tokens or shares tracking value
-Some way to extract value from the DAO treasury based on those DAO tokens / shares

We could also include the "plugin manager" scheme which would allow the DAO to upgrade its functionality (and for example add a voting scheme at some point). Or we could just run without that too. In that case, there would literally be nothing you can do other than get DAO tokens / shares + extract value from the treasury...pretty cool.
