[issue]: Windows 11 24H2 error when discovering disks during setup #3010
Comments
Running into the same problem. Rufus works, Ventoy does not, either in normal or wimboot mode. The Windows Setup is also in a low resolution gfx mode compared to booting from the Rufus USB. I tried text mode in Ventoy and it doesn't make a difference. If I hit Shift+F10 during Windows Setup, and then use diskpart from the command line, the disk I'm trying to use is there, GPT, all the expected partitions on it. The Ventoy disk too, also GPT. Ventoy booted in UEFI mode. |
Please Press Shift+F10 to launch cmd.exe and enter |

What happened?
Possible bug. Using Ventoy for many years. When installing Windows 11 24H2, during the disk discovery stage (after accepting MS agreement) it produces an error and no disks are shown. Same ISO on Rufus and YUMI exFAT 1.0.28 (which uses the Ventoy 1.0.99 bootloader) installs without this error i.e. disks are discovered and listed in the Windows Setup. Reproduced multiple times and not tested older versions of Ventoy.
