Control Bar Below Player?

I am having an issue with the Web Components-TailwindCSS version where the control bar does not appear when I mouse over the player. I would rather have the controls below the media than as an overlay. Any guidance on how to do that? I am having a very difficult time reverse engineering the styling on the example. Thanks.
