Are you perhaps on a card that's > 32 GB, @edwardthehuman ? It's my experience that 32GB cards work swimmingly well, but the partitioning scheme - or something just falls apart when you make te bump to 64's. I've observed this on several different brands of uSD cards. It writes the first file successfully, then croaks when writing the second one.
Others have reported this basic phenomenon - please confirm if the device in question is > 32GB.
When I click on Test, it just says at the bottom of the progress bar the following:
Writing test files
max-write-rate=2048
And then I wait for a long time and it doesn't change, even the progress bar remains empty. Sometimes it just says 'stat' so I cancel it try again.
