Selecting mp4 format when downloading actually downloads mkv

This is a problem for me, as my main use for downloading videos from the web on my phone is to create reaction memes that I send to my friends in FB Messenger. Messenger seems to dislike any video format besides MP4.

I also have this problem, can we set the app to default "-f mp4" option somewhere it would be awesome. I'm sharing downloads via signal and only half my friends can watch the videos since apple has decided to be an asshole and not include mkv support.
