Date-Time Cleaner is a Node.js application for Windows that allows you to set the creation and last modified dates/times of the folder it is in, all subfolders, and all contained items. By default, it sets the date/time to "01/01/1970 00:00:00", but you can specify a different date/time when you run the application. It excludes everything specified in the .gitignore
file, if one is available within that folder.
Date-Time Cleaner can be useful in several scenarios:
-
Privacy: If you want to share files but don't want the metadata to reveal when the files were created or last modified, you can use Date-Time Cleaner to reset these dates/times.
-
Testing: If you're testing software that depends on the creation or modification dates/times of files, you can use Date-Time Cleaner to set these dates/times to a known value.
-
Cleanup: If you have old files with incorrect dates/times, you can use Date-Time Cleaner to reset them.
Remember to always back up your files before running Date-Time Cleaner, as it will permanently modify the metadata of your files.
Use the cleaner at your own risk.
A pre-compiled executable for Windows x64 is available in the /dist

Before running the application, you need to install the necessary dependencies. Run the following command in your terminal:
