Physiological Recording in MRI Environment
Last Updated: 01/11/2019
Welcome to the main GitHub distribution site for the PRiME system, an MRI-compatible hemodynamic recording system developed at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD. This site is a work in progress and will be updated periodically. Please direct any questions to John Kakareka, kakareka@nih.gov.
Please see the license file file for further details regarding distribution of these documents.
Please refer to https://nhlbi-mr.github.io/PRiME for a general overview of the system.
The full release is available here as a compressed file. The v1.0 release was implemented in Dr. Robert Lederman's lab at the NIH. The v1.1 release adds the Labview application code and some additional documentation.
Gen1
This folder contains files related the first generation of the PRiME system. PRiME Gen1 was implemented in the Summer of 2016 and integrated into the Lederman lab in September of 2016. The PRiME Gen1 system was derived from the PRiME prototype system which was developed over several years and successfully used in several dozen human cases and numerous animal studies.
Gen1->Assembly
This folder contains all the assembly files needed to implement the PRiME Gen1 system. This includes BOMs (bill of materials which list all parts used in the PRiME system), GERBER files for all printed circuit boards (PCBs) (GERBER files are the standard file format used by printed circuit board production companies), STEP files and mechanical drawings for enclosure cutouts (which can be sent directly to Bud Industries, the manufacturer of the enclosures used in the system, who can also perform the necessary cutouts), and AVI files showing how the boards and enclosures are assembled.
All files can be sent to a single electronics assembly company who can fully fabricate and assemble the boards based on these documents. As an example, our group used ECA (Electronic Contract Assemblers in Frederick, MD), but any assembly company will be able to use the provided documents.
Gen1->Components
This folder contains all the schematic, PCB layout files, software code, and 3D models used in the design. These files will contain the more detailed information on the designs and the files which would be modified if changes are needed. The schematic and PCB layout files were created using Cadsoft Eagle v7. The 3D models were generated using Solidworks 2016, the software code used in the Launchpad microntroller board (internal to the CSaAF component) was written using Code Composer Studio. The main user interface (installed on standard Windows PC) and the FPGA code (internal to the CSaAF component) was written in LabVIEW.
Gen1->Images
This folder contains images of the final system.
Gen1->Documentation
This folder contains additional documentation on the system, including PDFs of the circuit schematics, visual overview of the system setup, notes on component selection, manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
