should it be implemented in #267 or in another pr?

Uh, whatever you want. Although it probably makes most sense to merge plugin detection code and installer code separately to keep the diff small ^^

Then review #267 (pls). The last commit installs plugins according to the standard.

Won't be able until at least tonight (and no guarantees I can then) :/

Feel free to fork it though and already work on the detection code if you wanna. We'll just fix resulting merge conflicts afterwards ^^
