The first programming language that I was introduced to was C, as it is for most new devs, but not so long after that, I started my Python journey and haven't looked back since. I have used Python for my professional work as a Data Analyst (DA) to gain actionable insights from data to drive business decisions. My main mission as a DA was to tell a story through data to convey otherwise complex data to an audience.
Data Analytics introduced me to various skills within the field, such as building data pipelines, data warehousing, data scraping, and SQL/NoSQL databases. This is where my Python skills improved the most, giving me the ability to learn new technologies within the field quickly. Since then, I have added Rust to my programming tool belt, a blazing fast, memory-efficient language that I have been using within my ELT/ETL data pipelines.
I pivoted into a Data Engineering role after my time as a DA, putting my AWS certification to use as I develop data pipelines for my freelance clients in the cloud.
