British Isles Update
Hello everyone 😄,
Yes, it is finally time for another update to the Photopollution Calculator. I cannot believe it has been over three months since the last update!
In this update, we finally got around to adding the towns of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island 😃. As a result, the app is now available in the United Kingdom! This means you can now enter any town from the two largest islands of the British Isles; that covers over 68 million people! Thank you for all the feedback over the past few months, and we hope the update was worth the wait.
As always, happy stargazing 🔭 🌒.
Conor.
Sky Quality Update
Hello everyone 😄,
Yes, it is time for another update to the Photopollution Calculator.
In this update, we completely changed the unit of measurement we utilise to measure photopollution from LUX to mags / sec^2. This alines the calculator more seamlessly with ongoing research in the field.
Thank you again for using Photopollution Calculator.
Happy Dark-Sky Week everyone 🎆, and as always happy stargazing 🔭 🌒
Conor.
NB: This update completely removes support for Python 2 in favour of Python 3.
BTYSTE Update
This is our final update before the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition 2019.
We will be at Stand 3502 in the Chemical, Physical, Mathematical Sciences category.
Happy Stargazing 🔭 🌒

Fin 2018
We have included photopollution maps, population density heat maps, and much much more, in the "Map_Data" folder, which is located inside the Data folder. Most of the files in this folder will require QGIS to open them. QGIS is a free and open-source cross-platform desktop geographic information system application that supports viewing, editing, and analysis of geospatial data. This is our final update in 2018, and mostly likely our final update before the BTYSTE 2019 begins. So, please follow us on Twitter @kenmarebtyste, and download our app on the Google Play Store.
Happy Holidays 🎄 🎅 and Happy Stargazing 🔭 🌒
See you next year,
Conor.
Major Changes to Data Calculations
We changed the way we calculated correlation coefficient, photopollution, etc. We also reduced the number of files necessary to calculate this information. There is, however, no major UI changes. Thank you for using the Photopollution Calculator for Munster Python Program. Also, check out our app on the Google Play. Simply search, "Photopollution Calculator".

Let's Get Py Crazy!
Python 2.7 is great and all, however, you know what is even better, more py. You can now run our photopollution calculator in Python 3. Simply run the file Program_3.py.
