Group View Documentation
The group view is comprised of 3 sections: SideBar
, MiddleBar
, and RightView
.
The SideBar
contains a list of groups for which a user is a member of. A new group can be created through the 'New Group' button on the SideBar
. Users can click the personal view button to go back to their personal view. The SideBar
appears in both personal and group views.
The MiddleBar
is a section beside the SideBar
and contains the Task Queue and a list of group members. Task Queue displays all the group tasks assigned to the current user. Reminders can be sent to group members by clicking on the bell button under the People section.
RightView
contains the group tasks of all members in the group. Completed group tasks show up at the front of the task row under a section labeled 'Completed'. The 'Assign new task' button opens the TaskCreator
and populates the assignedMembers
field with the corresponding member. A progress bar on the bottom shows the overall task progression of the group.
Group tasks are similar to one time tasks and support subtasks. Instead of tag labels, members belonging to a group can be assigned to a group task. If no member is assigned to a group task, then the current user will be automatically assigned to the group task. Members of a group are able to edit tasks belonging to other members but are not able to mark tasks of others as completed.
Invitations may be sent to other Cornell students by inputting their NetID. Invited users will receive an invite message on their Samwise personal view.
A group must have at least one member. If all members have left the group then the group is removed. When a user leaves a group, all group tasks assigned to that user will remain and should still appear in their personal view.
