This is are how the pins are laid out on the board. The numbers in brackets are the actual pin numbers of the microcontroller. Pins IO* are digital and S* are analogue.
GND | GND |
IO3 (10) | IO2 (9) |
IO1 (13) | IO0 (5) |
SCL | SDA |
S5 (A1) | S4 (A0) |
S3 (A3) | S2 (A2) |
S1 (A5) | S0 (A4) |
VBAT | VBAT |
If your shield's pins are surface mounted i.e. not going through/below the board then you should remember to mirror the layout above, like so.
GND | GND |
IO2 (9) | IO3 (10) |
IO0 (5) | IO1 (13) |
SDA | SCL |
S4 (A0) | S5 (A1) |
S2 (A2) | S3 (A3) |
S0 (A4) | S1 (A5) |
VBAT | VBAT |
You connect a 3.3V regulator to VBAT and GND with a couple of capacitors (depending on the regulator you use) to get a steady 3.3v voltage from the battery.
