Get started with JULES land surface energy balance model.
This repository contains documentation and scripts to facilitate the installation of JULES for research purposes.
I learnt JULES on my visit to Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Imperial College London, Sept-Nov 2023.
JULES Joint UK Land Environment Simulator is a community land surface model designed for use in a range of applications, including climate and land-use research and is actively used by UK-Met office for forecasting.
- Python 2.0
- Sphinx
- Unix/Linux system
- Fortran Compiler
- Netcdf-C, Netcdf-Fortran
- HDF5
- Zlib
- MPI
- MOSRS login
- Run or follow bash_script_zlib-hdf5-netcdf-C-F.sh, this will install all the prerequisites
- Now follow setting_up_jules.sh
Done!
- Follow running_jules.txt for model configurations and execution.
- More and detailed information about the model parameters can be obtained at (https://jules-lsm.github.io)
