Welcome to the mtasa-resources wiki!

How to contribute to resources

Before you do anything, please install GitHub Desktop and follow this tutorial.

  1. Delete your server resources folder (backup the stuff you want to keep)
  2. After you have installed it, navigate here, select "Fork" (top right)
  3. Navigate to your fork (https://github.com/USERNAME/mtasa-resources) and hit the green "Clone" button, and select "Open in Desktop"
  4. In GitHub Desktop, make sure you clone it to your server resources folder.
  5. Select an issue on https://github.com/multitheftauto/mtasa-resources you would like to work on
  6. Create a branch (do not work on master) https://help.github.com/en/desktop/contributing-to-projects/making-changes-in-a-branch
  7. Make your improvements using a code editor like VS Code
  8. Make a commit using GitHub Desktop
  9. When you are done, create a pull request using GitHub Desktop https://help.github.com/en/desktop/contributing-to-projects/creating-a-pull-request

If you get stuck, ask for help on Discord:

  • Make sure you think through your problem before asking for help. Type out one long message with your question, and wait for an answer. Don't @ anyone or PM anyone.
  • Tell us what you've tried and where exactly you're stuck
  • If you're stuck with GitHub Desktop, first find help on GitHub's help pages. Then send us screenshots of what you're stuck with
