Welcome to the mtasa-resources wiki!
Before you do anything, please install GitHub Desktop and follow this tutorial.
- Delete your server
resources
folder (backup the stuff you want to keep) - After you have installed it, navigate here, select "Fork" (top right)
- Navigate to your fork (https://github.com/USERNAME/mtasa-resources) and hit the green "Clone" button, and select "Open in Desktop"
- In GitHub Desktop, make sure you clone it to your server resources folder.
- Select an issue on https://github.com/multitheftauto/mtasa-resources you would like to work on
- Create a branch (do not work on master) https://help.github.com/en/desktop/contributing-to-projects/making-changes-in-a-branch
- Make your improvements using a code editor like VS Code
- Make a commit using GitHub Desktop
- When you are done, create a pull request using GitHub Desktop https://help.github.com/en/desktop/contributing-to-projects/creating-a-pull-request
If you get stuck, ask for help on Discord:
- Make sure you think through your problem before asking for help. Type out one long message with your question, and wait for an answer. Don't @ anyone or PM anyone.
- Tell us what you've tried and where exactly you're stuck
- If you're stuck with GitHub Desktop, first find help on GitHub's help pages. Then send us screenshots of what you're stuck with
