<h2>Welcome to Vienna and the Department of Musicology</h2>

<p>Here you can find information on the conference sites and how to get there via public transport. To find the route, which is best suited for you, you can use the <a href="https://www.wienerlinien.at/eportal3/ep/channelView.do/pageTypeId/66533/channelId/-48703" target="blank">online journey planner provided by the Wiener Linien</a>. The conference fee covers a 3-day ticket, which is valid on all public transport services in the core zone of Vienna. Airport transfers are not included.</p>

If you stay at one of the recommended accommodations, the Department will only be a short walk away. There are also many underground and tram stations nearby: Rathaus and Schottentor (both violet line U2) and Landesgerichtshof (trams 43 and 44) as well as Schwarzspanierstraße (trams 37, 38, 40, 41 and 42).</p>

The small town of College Park has a few dining and recreational options, with more opening up in Spring and Summer 2017, including the MilkBoy ArtHouse and “The Hotel” (including a new hotel and several new restaurants and amenities). College Park is connected via the Metro with downtown Washington DC, with its world class free museums, art venues, and a vibrant and forward looking dining scene. Once on the train a Metro ride to downtown takes approximately 25 minutes and costs $3.35 ($4.05 at peak times) with a SmarTrip card (obtainable at any station for $10 including $8 credit). The last train from downtown DC (Gallery Place / Chinatown station) is at 12:16 AM. </p>
