Releases: rdbo/sigma-linux
Sigma Linux - v4.0-pre3
Pre-release for Sigma Linux with custom kernel, squashfs, better initramfs and many other improvements and fixes
Sigma Linux - v4.0-pre1
WARN: This version contains XZ 5.6.1, which seems to have an intentional backdoor built into it! If you use this version and a later version of XZ is available, upgrade ASAP!!!
NOTE: Alpine allegedly is not vulnerable to the XZ backdoor, because it allegedly only works with glibc. But upgrading should be done anyways (if available)
This is the second preview for Sigma Linux v4.0
Changes:
- Kernel config based off of alpine's kernel config (x86_64)
- Made all required modules to boot and setup the live boot as builtin
- Use XZ moduels compression instead of gzip
- Added kernel firmware (uncompressed)
- Fixed GPU drivers not loading due to missing firmware
- More stuff
NOTE: The tag 4.0.0-pre0 was bugged and i removed it, here are it's release notes:
This is a pre-release for the version 4.0 (wayland-squashfs-reboot)
The ISO has been tested on QEMU and appears to be working as intended, but has few lacking features:
- Post-install configuration on setup-sigma (setup root password, new user, timezone, etc)
- Terminal with ligatures
- Add more essential programs
- MBR support on installer
- More stuff that I can't recall right now
Despide these issues, it should be able to be installed on real hardware
NOTE: Apparently 4.0.0-pre0 was not bugged, this one is. It is bound the the commit on master
, but I'm working on the wayland-squashfs-reboot
branch. Oopsie.
Sigma Linux - v3.2
Sigma Linux - v3.1
Improved themes, added more apps, fixed audio server, etc
Sigma Linux - v3.0
Sigma Linux - v3.0
This operating system has been made simpler. It now uses mostly suckless tools and other lightweight tools.
It does not bloated software anymore. Only simple stuff.
It ships with many utilities, multiple clickable modules, a small C compiler and a linker, doesn't use systemd, very low on resources (~97MB on a VM). It is as good as it gets, at least for me.
This is an operating system for power users.
