Getting Started with the Blog Site

If you'd like to create your own tech journey blog using this site as a template, follow these instructions:

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Fork the Repository:

   • Go to the repository on GitHub and click the "Fork" button at the top right corner of the page. This creates a copy of the repository under your GitHub account.

2. Clone the Forked Repository:

   • On your GitHub account, navigate to the forked repository.
   • Click the "Code" button and copy the URL.
   • Open your terminal and run the following command:

     git clone <your-forked-repo-url>

3. Install Dependencies:

   • Navigate to the project directory:

     cd sasas-weeks

   • Install the necessary dependencies:

     npm install

4. Edit the Environment Variables:

   • Copy the example.env file to .env:

     cp example.env .env

   • Open the .env file in your code editor and update the environment variables as needed.

5. Customize the Content:

   • Open the project in your preferred code editor.
   • Modify the blog content and settings as per your preference. Update the _posts directory with your own blog entries.

6. Run the Blog Locally:

   • Start the development server:

     npm start

   • Open your browser and visit http://localhost:3000 to see your blog in action.

7. Deploy the Blog:

   • Once you are happy with your changes, deploy the blog to your preferred hosting service (e.g., GitHub Pages, Vercel, Netlify).
