Many (most?) hackerspaces have a community wiki to keep track of shared knowledge. Wikis offer an alternative to notes taped onto appliances, whiteboard acquisition lists, and other matters of shared infrastructure. As long as people edit boldly and document their projects, a wiki:
- helps users to share information about equipment and projects,
- allows for collaboration,
- helps track members' projects,
- and lowers the barrier for entry for newcomers,
