Filter Lab

Digital Filters written in C for software implementations.

How to Use Them?

Compiling and running test scripts;

  1. Open ..\filter-lab\Examples path in Terminal.
  2. gcc MovingAverageTest.c ..\NPointMovingAverage\MovingAverageFilter.c -o MovingAverageTeset.exe
  3. After compile is done run the .exe file in terminal.

Math Behind It

Moving Average

As the name implies, the moving average filter operates by averaging a number of points from the input signal to produce each point in the output signal. In equation form, this is written:

Where x[n] is the input signal,y[n] is the output signal, and M is the number of points in the average. For example, in a 5 point moving average filter, point 80 in the output signal is given by:
