Project team round

Here we discuss topics that need broader attention, for example questions that came up but are outside a single project's scope, larger planned changes/PRs that affect all teams or pending work that is blocked by external factors.

1. Models / NESTML

   • work ongoing (reviewing nestml#515), no major updates

2. PyNEST

   • work ongoing, no major updates

3. Kernel

   • mymodule refactoring: topology module now completely dissolved into nestkernel, no separate module anymore. now in nestkernel/spatial (#1748)
   • congen refactoring on-going, currently blocked by build issues on Travis
   • modelsmodule refactoring (will be removed), ModelManager will take over the responsibility of registering models (internal refactoring only)

   Overall refactoring collected in #1717.

4. Installation

   • #1612 collect dependencies discussed

5. Infrastructure

   • Python problem disappeared...
   • redesigning the Travis build stages #1704

6. Documentation

   • no major updates, new guide on weight updates, discussing pynest examples at the hackathon
   • looking into #1534

7. EBRAINS

   • nothing to report
   • received request for server-side NEST, as provided by EBRAINS

   • no progress yet, planned work at the hackathon
